Building On Self Confidence

Self-Confidence Through NLP and Self-Hypnosis

Self confidence is an emotional and mental state of mind which responds to the individual’s need for self-acceptance and recognition. It is one among the oldest and most discussed ideas in psychology. It describes a positive although realistic perception of oneself and one’s abilities. Hence, self-confident persons frequently have a better knowledge of the things they can do and will be more apt to be successful in what they attempt. They are able to more easily admit and understand their errors.

By contrast, a lack of confidence may deter you from believing what you do and decide will eventually turn out as you had planned. It can hence interfere with the development of decision-making aptitudes, planning and managerial strength all of which are necessary and indispensable things in the current business world. The pre-occupation with other people’s opinions of your work might also cause you to become overly self-critical, which is something that will distract you from tasks you would have otherwise been fully able to do.

Low self confidence will also affect your social life, because individuals with low self confidence are more likely to stay in their “comfort zone” and are scared of being rejected. This is called social phobia and is usually associated with low self confidence, but also other mental conditions such as depression. People with low self confidence are afraid of being judged by others and will avoid talking to new people, which can subsequently lead to isolation and even lower self confidence. Low self confidence is a vicious circle that is hard to break.

To the contrary, because they believe in their aptitudes, self-confident persons can do what they feel is appropriate and don’t feel the need for the approval of other people. They also inspire confidence: your boss, employees, customers, friends or relatives will be more likely to trust you or the things you are saying if you look self-confident.

A lot experiences can cause low self confidence. Recent research proves that parenting style has a major impact on the development of the self confidence of a child. Physical and emotional abuses in childhood are for instance the worse for a person’s self confidence, as well as divorce and family conflicts. Overprotective parents can also be a reason for a child’s social phobia and inhibit the independence mandatory to build self confidence. Successes and failures, for instance at school or in one’s professional life, also play a decisive role: losing a job or failing a class are among the various experiences that will negatively affect your self confidence.

It is however possible to overcome those bad experiences and develop confidence. The first step to build self confidence would be to learn to know yourself and what your strengths are. Recognizing that you cannot be perfect and cannot be good in all that you do will help you gain self confidence. Accepting who you are is the key to building self confidence. But improving self confidence also requires that you start taking risks and giving yourself credit for your accomplishments. This is very basic advice which will help you gain self confidence. You might also find a great number of books which will tell you how to gain self confidence, but many of them are not reliable.

Many people suffer from low self confidence or are only capable of gaining self confidence in one or a few areas of their lives because they constantly seek other people’s approval and are afraid of failing. Numerous factors, including childhood traumas, can explain why certain people are not able to have the wholesome life a self confident individual could have. Such persons also don’t always know how to gain self confidence. However improving self confidence can now easily and effectively be done with NLP and hypnosis.
As we have seen low self confidence and social phobia can be caused by bad experiences or unconscious fears which are sometimes hard to overcome through self persuasion only. Confidence hypnosis and NLP on the other hand can get to the unconscious part of the mind and change belief systems to boost self confidence. They are effective tools that will help you address your fears and trust yourself to develop self confidence.

Self-Confidence hypnosis has been used for a few decades and has shown significant results in building self confidence. In a hypnotized state, reaching unconscious thoughts is a lot easier and, through hypnotic suggestion, it is possible to replace your negative thought patterns with positive ones to gain self-confidence.
